One pays tribute to aspiring young film makers

In support of our colleagues at Peterborough County Council and aspiring young film makers in the county, we were thrilled to sponsor the Peterborough Children’s Film Awards 2012.

Celebrating children’s talents in film, we sponsored the awards in conjunction with our partner, Liquidlogic, with whom we work to help Peterborough County Council manage children’s achievement and social care data.

Taking place over two evenings - Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 July - the awards honoured both secondary and primary age entrants respectively. Capita One Services Director, Graham Kavanagh, was thrilled to be invited to Thursday’s ceremony held at KingsGate Community Church in Parnwell.

Attended by over 1,000 primary school pupils, Graham presented the topical award for Best Documentary: The Olympic Truce, which was open to children in years 3-6. This was awarded to the Duke of Bedford Primary School. There was a host of awards presented on the night, including Best Animation Film, Drama Tales With a Twist and even Best Film in a Foreign Language.

Our support of these awards comes just less than a year after we secured a contract win with Peterborough County Council following a rigorous eight month tender process. The council selected our One system to help deliver a more integrated IT solution for managing children’s data and ultimately, to help improve children’s life chances.

Once letters to parents have been generated through Workflow timelines in CSS, they are then logged automatically, making the letter part of the child's record and easily accessible.
