Marilyn Curtis
One Product Manager
Capita One

The job title definitely doesn’t say it all! I am fiercely proud of our Capita One product set but, as product manager, my job is just as much about people, whether it’s the dedicated One team or our customers themselves. And I’m delighted for it to be that way.

It’s my role to ensure Capita One products keep pace not only with the changing needs of customers but also with developments in statutory requirements. This entails liaising with external bodies such as The Department for Education and the Welsh Assembly Government, as well as lots of contact with customers, working with them to better understand how to meet their business needs.

Add to that the fact I work with a great team who are incredibly committed to supporting our customers, even at the most stressful of times, and it’s not hard to see why I have been with Capita One for eight years! In fact, the people are what make it great working at Capita.

I’m very proud of the fact that we are constantly looking at opportunities to develop our solutions in line with technology advancements. Releasing the new version of One Admissions & Transfers Online in December last year, incorporating over 100 customer-requested enhancements, was a huge achievement for the team.

Not only can parents make school admission applications online, they can receive and respond to the offer online too. This eases the pressure on local authority staff as well as helping the local authority drive real value to the parent when, and where, they need it.

Tip of the Day

Once letters to parents have been generated through Workflow timelines in CSS, they are then logged automatically, making the letter part of the child's record and easily accessible.
