My aim is to help authorities use information to understand when children and young people need support and identify what shape that support should take.

This has always been a passion of mine since I worked in Bedfordshire County Council nearly 30 years ago.

I went on from Bedfordshire to help develop SIMS, the management information system used by 21,000 schools. I am still in charge of SIMS today for Capita and I am proud that many of the local authorities who use One rely on SIMS school data for accurate information about the children in their area.

My aim for One is to help local authorities get through these difficult times by providing software solutions that can not only save money, but forge the way in successful early intervention. To do this, I have to not only look at what authorities are doing now, but also what they need to be doing in the future.

I have the greatest respect for what local authorities are trying to achieve at the moment and we are committed to supporting them in any way we can.
