Admissions and Transfers Online

Increase access and convenience for parents and reduce the administrative burden for staff with One A&T Online.

Greater convenience

The rapid expansion and use of digital services means parents expect the convenience of online applications for school places that fits in with their busy home and working lives.

Improved access

eGovernment targets are pushing LAs to offer an increased range of access to local services online.

More efficient process

The time spent on managing the administration of the admission and transfer process is reduced and parents can view their offer and make a response to their offer without the need to contact LA staff.

  • Simple to use, easily accessible
    • Using a home or work PC, parents with an email address and internet access can apply for a school place at a time and location convenient for them. Schools and local Choice Advisers can also offer support to parents without Internet access or who need language support

  • Enter information, save, review, edit, submit
    • For the normal admissions round online applications can be saved at any stage and edited prior to the closure date, giving parents time to review their options and make a more informed and considered choice. From Dec 2011 parents will be able to make an in year application (once submitted it is not editable)

  • Delivery and receipt guaranteed
    • Unlike postal applications, parents applying online will receive confirmation that their application has been received by the LA

  • Automatic notification, review and appeal
    • Email notification sent to parents once their child has been offered a school place
    • Parents are able to view their offer online and respond to those offers.
    • LAs can enable a link to  information on how to appeal if a place is refused

Reduce the administrative burden of admissions and transfers

Admissions teams can often spend too much of their time on simple data entry. One A&T Online reduces that administrative burden and drain on resources by importing online applications directly into the main admissions system quickly and easily.

The whole admissions process can be managed by the authority more efficiently and One A&T Online reduces the need for parents to make contact directly with the admissions team. The outcome of their application can be viewed online too.

The software meets the DfE's minimum features list requirements and provides LAs with the flexibility to add greater value to parents with additional local information, advice and support.

Benefits for parents:

  • Simple to use
  • Track the progress of an application online
  • Disability Discrimination Act Level AA compliant, ensuring virtually all parents can use it

Benefits for the LA:

  • Gives schools and Choice Advisers easy access, via One Online, to support parents making an online application and, for schools, to other relevant admissions data
  • Automatically matches child data stored within One with data from online applications through either manually entered data or through the use of the Unique Identifier (UID)
  • Complies with the eAdmissions National Project’s minimum features list for online admissions and has built in flexibility to be tailored to the more specific needs of local authorities
