Easier access to more timely information
One Early Years ensures that authorities can meet their statutory obligations arising from the Childcare Act (2006) more easily, such as assisting parents looking for childcare provision or enquiries from people looking to work in childcare.
The software removes much of the administrative burdens associated with effective early years provision, such as managing the calculation and payment to providers for the free entitlement to nursery education, and establishing and transferring correct payments to the authority’s financial management system.
As well as having the flexibility to support local needs, One Early Years complies with the latest DfE guidance on early years funding and the Single Funding Formula.
One Early Years:
- Imports information from new or existing childcare providers directly from Ofsted
- Quickly and easily generates interim and final payments, calculated by the hour for two, three and four year olds attending one or more childcare settings
- Provides the flexibility to input different payment rates and the number of weeks open for each provider
- Automatic processes, such as transferring authorised payments to the authority’s financial management system, removes unnecessary administrative tasks and improves accuracy
- Allows routine checks to be quickly and easily carried out to identify suspect or duplicate claims for the same child
- Child-level data and other information required for the DfE Early Years Census can be accessed quickly and returns generated at the touch of a button
- Supports meeting the requirements of Section 12 of the Childcare Act (2006)
