  By covering all types of provision enquiry (both childcare and non-childcare), a more efficient system is created to manage enquiries for information  and enable real-time responses to be provided

A one-stop shop for a comprehensive and accurate record for every provider

The Family Information Directory ensures a single, authoritative record of information on every provider can be shared to two separate locally defined Family Information Directories. By reducing the need to maintain a series of separate information systems, it provides significant cost and time savings in developing and maintaining an accurate profile of all local child and family services.

The software allows parents, prospective parents and other interested members of the public with convenient, easy to use access to a range of information on childcare provision and careers.

One Family Information Directory:

• Makes it easier for the public to access information about the range of childcare services provided locally
• Provides a more interactive and useful service in highlighting the location of provision and services in proximity to the enquirer’s place of work or home
• Reduces the drain on authority resources in managing and responding to enquiries
• Helps authorities support their responsibilities under Section 12 of the Childcare Act 2006
