There are two Route Optimisation products that, when used in conjunction with One Transport, will support the effective planning of routes for both mainstream pupils and those with statements of Special Educational Needs.

• Route and Vehicle Allocation (RAVA)
  • Calculate the optimum routes to schools and types of vehicles for all the statutory eligible students who need to be transported
  • Quickly work out a number of different scenarios by changing parameters, such as walking distance to the bus stop or maximum drive time or time on the bus
  • Easily produce route maps, calculate route times (including loading time), distances and costs
  • Automatically allocates the most appropriate vehicles or works out the most efficient use of vehicles in a pre-defined fleet
     
• SEN Vehicle Management
  • Enables appropriate grouping of students, reducing the number of vehicles needed and a reduced journey time for students
  • Manages the transport for students with a statement of SEN and/or special transport needs as a group to ensure this is delivered as cost-effectively as possible
  • The most efficient routes in terms of journey time, cost and type of vehicle required can be automatically calculated for user-defined groups of students
  • Enables the impact of changes in students or student requirements to be dealt with easily and efficiently 
  • Escort information is used to show the closest escorts to the start of a selected route.
