When I sat down with the team a couple of months ago to plan the content for this October’s software update seminars, we discussed at length which of the latest One developments we felt would be of most interest to you. The decision was a particularly difficult one because it’s been such an exciting year, not only in terms of enhanced solutions, but also in terms of the development of brand new solutions to meet the evolving needs of local authorities.
It’s precisely because of so much happening within the One suite that it’s well worth putting the time aside to come along, either on Tuesday 20th October to our event in York, or to our London event on Thursday 22 October.
We know from customer feedback that you really value these events, in particular because you can chat face-to-face with members of the One team about what’s coming up, combined with the unique opportunity to share experiences with colleagues in similar roles in other local authorities.
What’s in store at this year’s software update seminars
Once we’d agreed which areas to feature, it struck me that, at the heart of each of these areas, the focus is on ‘making life easier’ within your teams. Whether it’s enhancing your experience of using One, or helping to alleviate the administrative burden, we’re committed to ensuring the One suite is never about new technology for the sake of it, but about providing solutions in direct response to common areas of frustration within local authorities, ensuring you can make the best use of your time and resources.
At the seminars we’ll talk you through the latest developments to some of our new portals, including school place applications, the SEND portals and a taster of our forthcoming Education Plan Monitoring solution. Each of these has been designed to improve efficiency and enable more effective collaboration, whether with professionals from other departments and agencies or with parents themselves by making it easier for them to submit information about their child.
We’re delighted to have been working in partnership with six local authorities as part of our development programme for One Youth Justice and will update you on how the case management tools to support youth offending teams are shaping.
Continuing the theme of ‘making life easier’, we’ll give you a tour of the new scheduled tasks functionality in B2B:Student and discuss the new functionality for System Admin v4, including the convenience of single sign-on.
Sneak previews of our new solutions
Many of you will know we’ve been examining how One data could drive decision-making and consulting customers on turning this into practice, such as the workshop at this year’s National User Group where you created reporting dashboards. We’ll be reporting back on how these have helped shaped the new One Analytics solution.
We’ll share the latest on how GIS can be used as a powerful prediction tool and how the new technology within the One Predict and Prevent solution can be used to better support vulnerable groups. There’ll also be a quick preview of One Social Care and how this will help address some of the latest challenges including multi-agency working and responding to the Care Act.
