Out of all the different (and diverse!) responsibilities in the One team, there’s one task I’m particularly privileged to be able to deliver as part of my role – that of sharing our development plans for the following year with our customers.
The roadmap for 2015 is no exception - I’m delighted to be able to report on our plans for an innovative suite of new features to help you address local challenges whilst meeting your statutory obligations.
I’ve selected some developments which I’m particularly excited about, below. Of course, this is just a very small snapshot of our plans – to see the full list, look out for our full One Roadmap 2015 which will be available in December on SupportNet.
Next year our focus includes:
- Early years: enhancements to help you support the most disadvantaged families
- SEND: a new portal to help multi-agency teams contribute to the EHC Plan
- Data integration: enhancements to B2B:Student with scheduled functionality to give you more control over when you receive data
Early years - supporting early help and information-sharing
As part of our commitment to help you tailor your services to meet the needs of the most disadvantaged families, we’re continuing to invest in our early years suite. In particular, a new One provider self-update portal will provide more opportunities to share information and to record child developmental progress, improving collaboration between teams.
We’re also planning new functionality to support the early years pupil premium for disadvantaged 3 and 4-year-olds, dependent on the results of the final Department for Education consultation.
Helping you support children with SEN/D
As the Government continues to place greater emphasis on multi-agency working, our forthcoming professional portal will allow the multi-agency team around the child to contribute to EHC Plans by giving access to review and update assessment advices, iterations of plans, and panel review decisions.
Supporting you in bringing together information
To make it easier for you to be able to monitor vulnerable groups, we’re enhancing B2B:Student with scheduled functionality, giving you more control over when you receive data from schools. We’re pulling together your feedback from the Software Consultancy Group forums to ensure these enhancements can help you transform service delivery by being able to quickly turn the data you receive into intelligence.
We’ll also, of course, be continuing our migration programme, including migrating the v3 versions of Education Plan Monitoring, Population Forecasting and the remaining areas of System Admin. Don’t forget, we can help you achieve a smooth migration, with our range of support packages.
